Study on Physiologic Age of Korean


Abstract
It can be expected that the morphology, function and mentality trend to decline as the age proceeds chronologically. Those phenomena would have some differences by individuals and items measured, the characteristics of change by age might be demonstrated by means of mass phenomena in terms of physiologic age. Author observed and examined five hundred healthy persons for 25 items divided 20 groups by sex-and age group specific class of 25 materials from March 1962 to October. Followings were observed;
1. Morphology and function were taking the declining trend generally as chronological age proceeded after youth of finishing physical development except some functions needing muscle activity exceeded the development in prime age.
2. The items of composing the body stature out of morphology showed no remarkable declination, offering influence not much to the determination of physiologic age.
3. The sensory organ of central nervous system and circulatory organ out of function-items expressed the senility systematically.
4. Eye-fundus, accommodation and acuity of vision and audium showed process of senility well.
5. Reaction time and Flicker value out of mental and psychological items showed high value indicating senile phenomena.
6. According to items observed, significant difference of degeneration was pointed out in each prime, pre-snile and senile age.
7. The trends of change of sex specific morphological and functional difference werenot unique in form, having a variety of phenomena.
8. The tendency of declination of morphology ¢¥and function in terms of age, showed sharp and moderate phase.
9. Unlaboring age by senility should be variable in accordance with the social activities.
